On 23rd November, Kees de Zeeuw, director of Kadaster International and Gabriel Triwibawa, Director Planning and Cooperation of the Indonesian Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR/BPN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU is the start of a cooperation between the two agencies with the ultimate aim to speed up land registration in Indonesia.

The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning in Indonesia has set the target to complete land registration for the whole country by 2025. Currently, only 35% of the country is covered. In the coming period, several methods will be investigating Fit-For-Purpose methods on how to reach this target. For instance, by simplifying the standards for surveying, making it more easy and less expensive, and by using crowdsourcing to collect data.
