The LAND programme 2015-2019 was a Dutch partnership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Kadaster, with expert contributions from (inter)national governments, private companies, NGOs, knowledge centres and universities.
Data in basic registers are of high quality. Governments can use these without further investigation. Nevertheless, it is possible that registered data about, for example, an address or building, is not corresponding with the actual address or building.
Kadaster internationally provides information, education and research. We collaborate for instance with national universities in several countries.
The Kadaster is careful when dealing with the privacy of all persons who are contained in its registrations. The law regulates that these registrations are public. The Kadaster only uses personal data to perform its legal tasks.
The Netherlands is one of the first countries in the world to use fully automatic generalisation to produce topographical maps.
The ‘Fit for purpose’ approach means that land administration in developing countries should be affordable, fast and designed to meet the people’s needs.
