Recording and processing of personal data

In addition to managing registers, providing information is a core task of the Kadaster (Article 3 of the Land Registry Act). The products of information from the registers and the national facilities come in many forms, for example: data files, formal documents or maps.

For what does the Kadaster use personal data?

Customers can purchase information products in person, by telephone or through online contact forms. For business customers, the Kadaster offers, on our own website, the web portal My Kadaster and the Web store for private customers.

If you wish to purchase information products from the Kadaster, we will ask you to provide personal data. These data are stored in the Kadaster’s customer system and used to provide information products to you, to answer questions and to handle any payment. The processing of your data is necessary for the execution of an agreement between you and the Kadaster
Your data may also be used by the Kadaster to inform you about Kadaster product-related matters.

Which personal data are registered?

  • personal details: such as name, address, place of residence, country, telephone number, e-mail address, customer number, IP address, supplemented with company details (function/department), if applicable;
  • payment details: such as bank account number, SEPA (in connection with direct debit), invoice number and direct debit amount.

Does the Kadaster distribute data and to whom?

We ensure that the personal information you provide to us is treated confidentially. Your personal data are in principle only used by the Kadaster. To improve our services and provision of services, we may use your personal data for market research and as a result possibly engage third parties who carry out this research on our behalf. We also provide personal data to third parties if we are obliged to do so for legal reasons or a court decision. Information about possible payment arrears may be shared with a debt collection agency engaged by the Kadaster.

How long does the Kadaster keep my data?

The Kadaster keeps your data in the customer system and you may view or change these data if necessary. Processed IP addresses are stored for three months. After the aforementioned retention period, your IP address will be discarded and/or removed from the Kadaster systems.
