By strengthening its geodata Tunisia can improve its land consolidation system. Together with our partners we support this effort. It reinforces secure land tenure, better access to credit and sustainable rural development. Tunisia has worked on agricultural restructuring since the 1950s. But the current system still relies on outdated software, analogue workflows and fragmented data practices. Better geodata will help agencies work together more effectively.
Tunisia has strong technical foundations and committed institutions. By modernising geodata processes and improving coordination between agencies, the country can unlock the full development potential of land consolidation.

The idea behind ‘Fit for purpose’ is that land administration should be designed to meet the needs of people and the environment. It also should identify the way land is occupied and used within a relatively short time and at relatively low costs.
